Georgetown Swims

Learn to swim and promote water safety in the Georgetown youth. Learn More about Georgetown Swims.

Volunteers

We provide volunteers for special events sponsored by the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Center. Come to a monthly meeting to find your special volunteer interest. We also provide volunteers for our Georgetown Swims program.

Grants

We write grants to attempt to fund our programs, vision and mission. We have successfully received a grant from the Lola Wright Foundation that was used to purchase a portable pool lift for the city pools. In March 2013 we received a grant from USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash program to expand and improve our Georgetown Swims Program.

Assistanceship

We provide financial assistance to families or individuals who cannot afford the regular programs or membership at the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Center. At this time aid is limited to Georgetown residents

Fundraising

We actively seek private and corporate donations to fund our projects.

Playscape

We will coordinate community efforts in the future renovation of the famous Georgetown playscape.

World's largest Swim Lesson

We coordinate with the City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department to present this fun water safety event. On the same day all over the world, the same basic swim lesson is taught to promote water safety and drowning prevention. In 2012 we successfully participated in this event gaining a Guinness World Book Record for the world’s largest swim lesson. We look forward to the event in June 2013. We need many volunteers for this event.
